Jumanji – The Next Level

(A movie review by Ishaan Shenoy)

Hello! I am Ishaan and today I am writing about the movie, ‘Jumanji: The Next Level’.
Jumanji is an adventure board game that magically pulls the players right into the game, making it a real-life adventure for them. In the earlier movie of the series, ‘Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle’, the board game magically converted itself into a video game console. Like the board game, the players can survive the challenges of Jumanji and return to their own world, only if they win the game.

Listen to Ishaan’s review of Jumanji – The Next Level

In Jumanji: Welcome To The Jungle, four teenagers (Spencer, Bethany, Fridge, and Martha) got pulled into the Jumanji Video Game. They had to group together to survive the game and return to their normal lives. These kids also met Alex, who was trapped inside Jumanji for over 14 years, and together they managed to win and get out of the Jumanji world. The four who had now become friends, had promised never to play the game ever again.

Inesh, Ishaan & Iresh after watching Jumanji with their friends Arjun & Aarav.

All this happened one year before the story of Jumanji: The Next Level. This movie starts with the four of them deciding to meet for a coffee, since it has been such a long time. But when they meet, Spencer is not to be found anywhere. So Fridge, Bethany, and Martha go to Spencer’s house to look for him, but he is not there.

They are shocked to find that Spencer still had the Jumanji video game console, and has disappeared into the game. The friends are left with no option but to go back inside the Jumanji game and try to save Spencer. But when they try to start the game, they are all pulled into the Jumanji world, but Bethany is left behind! Instead, Spencer’s grandfather Eddie and his friend Milo are sucked into the game. Now their job of winning the game became so much more difficult.

Quickly, they all realize that this game is a whole new level and a whole lot tougher than the last one. Will the gang manage to find Spencer and save Jumanji yet again? How can they do this without Bethany being in the game? Or will they stay stuck inside the game for ever? Watch the movie to find out!

This movie is way funnier than the last two Jumanji movies. My favorite characters here are Fridge and Spencer’s grandfather Eddie. Also Dr Smolder Bravestone is played by Dwayne Johnson. He was a former professional   known as by his ring name The Rock. His wrestling career lasted for over seven years. He later moved on to a career of acting. My friends love WWE so much that sometimes they even play matches! I watched this movie in the PVR 4DX theater with my brothers and our friends Arjun and Aarav.

This is the best Jumanji movie so far. This movie was connected a lot to the earlier ones. My favorite part is when Fridge finds out that Eddie and Milo have come inside the game and not Bethany! And that Eddie has to be reminded almost every minute that he is not dead or dreaming! That was really funny.

4DX experience makes you feel like you are inside the movie and makes everything feel realistic. Here, it was like we too were pulled inside the Jumanji world! This is at least the fourth time that we have seen a movie in the 4DX Theater. 4DX is one of my favorite ways to watch a movie. If you want to know more about the 4DX experience, check my twin brother Inesh’s review of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.

This is what Inesh has to say about ‘Jumanji: The Next Level’:
“I loved Jumanji. We watched the movie with our friends and so we had a lot more fun. I liked all the different characters. This movie was very different from the last two movies. It was a lot more funnier. I did not expect it to be so good, but when I saw it I was laughing and laughing. I think everyone will have a lot of fun watching this movie.”

Our younger brother Iresh was not very keen to see this movie, as he thought it maybe scary like the first Jumanji movie. But when he watched Jumanji: The Next Level, he loved it more than us and was laughing louder than all of us.

We loved Jumanji: The Next Level and hope you do too. If you have already seen this movie, tell us what you think about it. Did you like it? What was your favorite scene? Write to us.
Meanwhile, I am now eagerly awaiting for movies like ‘Black Widow’, ‘Wonder Woman: 1984’, ‘Artemis Fowl’, and ‘Sonic The Hedgehog’ to release. I really can’t wait to see them. Are there any movies that you are looking forward to? Tell us about them.

Until next time!

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker

(A movie review by Inesh Shenoy)

Hi! This is Inesh of the iThree. We saw the latest movie Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker on Sunday. This latest film is directed by J J Abrams and produced by Lukas Films. The Rise of Skywalker is the ninth episode in the Star Wars series and brings an end to the Sequel Trilogy. It is also the last movie of the overall saga.

Hear the movie review directly from Inesh Shenoy!

In an earlier movie The Force Awakens, Ben Solo became Kylo Ren and he tried to make Rey go to the dark side. This also happened in The Last Jedi.

This storyline continues in The Rise of Skywalker too, where Rey, Finn, Poe, and The Resistance have to find the Sith Way-Finder, but only two of them were made and Kylo Ren already has found one of these.

Star Wars… Here we come!

A Sith Way-Finder is a special compass that leads you to a secret world called Exegol, where Emperor Palpatine has been hiding all these years. He has now created the biggest fleet ever, which he calls “The Final Order”, and is threatening to start a war to end all resistance and rule the whole galaxy.

They start searching for the Sith Way-Finder, but Kylo Ren finds them first and again tries to make Rey go to the dark side. Rey finds that she can’t control herself. Rey is scared that she might become bad, bring an end to the Resistance, destroy the galaxy, and rule the universe with Kylo Ren.

Will Rey be able to control herself? Will the Resistance win the war? Or will Emperor Palpatine win, with Kylo Ren successfully making Rey go to the dark side? You should watch the movie to find out.

What good is a movie without a couple of buckets of pop-corn?

My favourite character is Babu Frik. Babu is very cute and funny, and he is also one of the important characters in the movie.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker was full of suspense and action. The graphics were very nicely done, and it all looked very real. It was really nice how they made the movie very serious and funny at the same time, I really liked that combination. I love Star Wars movies because everything is futuristic: from laser guns to spaceships and space travel, it is all very interesting. Overall, the movie was awesome.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is a must watch for everyone. It is a great way to end the saga. I loved it and I’m sure you will too.

Special Effects of the 4DX Theatre

My brothers and I watched Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker in the PVR 4DX Theatre, these were the following features:

Scent: If we were watching a scene with flowers, fruits, plants and trees there would be a nice sweet smell.

Motion: If we are flying in a plane, swimming in an ocean, or running, the seats move exactly how the character is moving, it all feels very real.

Wind: if we were in a heavy storm or going at top speed in a car, air would be blown at us.

Snow: If we are in a cold area like a snowy region, there would be fake snow falling all over the place. It was a very nice feature.

Smoke: If there was a fire in the movie, the whole room would be filled with smoke, you would really think that there is a real fire!

Water: If you are near a shore and the waves are really strong, some water gets sprinkled on you! This also feels very real.

Light: This was one of my most favourite features because everyone would be shooting guns and there would be light all over the place! Even if there was a lightning strike, there would be a flash of light. This was the best feature ever. I loved it!

Thanks to the 4DX features, we felt like we were inside the movie and a part of everything that happened. It was a wonderful experience!

Bye guys! We’ll see you next time.

Aladdin – A Disney Movie

A Movie Review by Inesh Shenoy

Aladdin is a new Disney movie directed by Guy Richie. The movie has real people acting in it, along with very good animation and computer graphics. It also has a nice combination of songs. Thanks to the #StarMoviesSecretScreening, we got to watch the movie a day before it released in the City theatres.

Here we are with our very own #StarMoviesSecretScreening boarding passes to watch Aladdin!

Aladdin is a poor street boy who lives in Agrabah with his pet monkey Abu. Agrabah is a small city ruled by the Sultan. Princess Jasmine is the Sultan’s daughter. She has a pet tiger named Rajah. Aladdin and Princess Jasmine fall in love, but there is a rule in the Kingdom that the princess can only marry a prince.

Listen to the review directly from Inesh Shenoy

Jafar is the Grand Vizier of the kingdom. He is a sorcerer and wants to find a legendary magical lamp. With that lamp he wants to be the most powerful being in the world, and also be the Sultan of the Kingdom. Jafar promises Aladdin that if he gets the lamp for him, he will make him a prince. The lamp is inside a cave. Aladdin goes inside the Cave of Wonders, but gets trapped inside. Aladdin also frees a magic carpet inside the magical cave.

The Star Movies people asked us to take a photo when the the magic lamp first appeared!

Not knowing what the lamp is, he rubs it and a huge Genie appears. The Genie says he can grant him three wishes. With the Genie’s help, Aladdin and Abu escape from the cave with the lamp and the magic carpet. Now Jafar is after Aladdin, wanting to get the lamp and the Genie. Jafar manages to grab the lamp from Aladdin and now that he controls the Genie, he appoints himself as the Sultan and takes over the kingdom.

Can Aladdin defeat Jafar with his pet monkey Abu and the magic carpet?  How can they fight Jafar now that he is the master of the genie too? What will happen to Princess Jasmine? To know what happens next, you have to watch Disney’s Aladdin movie.

I loved all the songs in the movie. My favourite song was “Friend Like Me”,  by Will Smith. I also liked the song Speechless, sung by Naomi Scott as Princess Jasmine in the movie. It is a very powerful and touching song, and plays an important role in the movie.  Another favourite song of mine from this movie is “Prince Ali”. This song is also  sung by Will Smith.

Enjoying popcorn as we wait for the movie to start!

Will Smith did an amazing job acting as the Genie, and I loved his role.I also loved his songs. Mena Massoud plays Aladdin and Princess Jasmine is played by Naomi Scott. I liked both their roles a lot. I also liked Jafar’s character, because of all the sorcery and magic he shows.

I loved the movie a lot. I think you should watch this movie because it is a really magical and fun movie.

Spiderman: Into The Spiderverse – The Movie

A movie review by Ishaan Shenoy

Hello! I am Ishaan Shenoy and I am nine-years-old. Today I am going to review the movie ‘Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse’. I was eagerly waiting to watch this movie because a scene from it was shown as one of the post-credit ending scenes at Venom.

Listen to this movie review directly from Ishaan

‘Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse’ is about a boy named Miles Morales who gets bitten by a radio-active spider, making him the only Spiderman in the universe. I am kidding!

The movie begins with the real Spiderman dying as he tries to stop Kingpin from running a really large, dangerous machine that may destroy the world. And it gives us one surprise after another, and gives us a lot of laughs.

The #iThree play their parts at the Spiderman into the Spiderverse installation!

With the help of four more spider-people and a spider-pig from around the multiverse, Miles has to stop the Kingpin from destroying the universe. But Miles has not yet learnt to use his new powers, and the other spider-heroes think that he is not ready and can’t really help in fighting Kingpin and his gang.

This movie is very different from all the recent Spiderman movies as it is animated and very colourful. Even if it is animated, the movie is still very realistic and pulls us into the wonderful world of the multiverse.

My favourite part is when Miles makes his Spidey suit and jumps off a building. He is still learning to use his powers and this brings a lot of funny scenes. It also gives us a hint of the different powers he has.

I saw this movie with Inesh, Iresh and my dad in the 4DX theatre of PVR Cinemas, which has many special effects like moving chair, blowing wind, fire effects, and even falling snow! All these made this movie experience even more fun and special.

Wall of the PVR 4DX Theatre with the words Motion, Light, Bubble, Wind, Water, Snow, and Scent.

Can Miles and his spider-friends defeat Kingpin? Will they be able to save the universe or is it too late already? Watch the movie to find out!

I think you should see this movie because it is filled with comedy and lots of action. I hope you see this movie and like it as much as I did.

I am now looking forward to watch Captain Marvel which releases on March 8th. I am really excited about it as it will give some important hints to Avengers – End Game. Do you like the MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe)? Which movies have you watched? What is your favourite. Please tell me.

See you soon!

Mary Poppins Returns – The Movie

A film review by Inesh Shenoy

Hello! I am Inesh Shenoy and I am nine-years-old. Today I am writing about the movie ‘Mary Poppins Returns’. It is a Disney film directed by Rob Marshall. I really liked Mary Poppins and all the magical things she does!

Listen to the review directly from Inesh

Mary Poppins is a magical character created by P. L. Travers and featured in a series of eight books in the 1930s. I have not read the books yet. My father recently bought the 80th Anniversary Collection of Mary Poppins which has all the books! I am planning to read them soon. I will share my thoughts after I have read them.

In 1964, a movie called Mary Poppins was directed by Robert Stevenson. This was based on book one of the Mary Poppins series and showed the Mr and Mrs Banks having two children, Jane and Michael. One day a mysterious lady flies in from the skies with her magical umbrella. She comes to their house and tells that her name is Mary Poppins and she will be their nanny!

Mary Poppins becomes the nanny for the kids Jane and Michael. She has a magical umbrella that can talk and a bag which is bigger on the inside so she can fit anything into it! She leaves them one day, and they slowly start to forget about all the magical impossible things they saw with her.

The #iThree are excited with their special passes for #StarMoviesSecretScreening

Our father was invited to a #StarMoviesSecretScreening by @StarMoviesIndia. They told that he could bring his children, so Baba took us along. I loved the experience of Secret Screening! We kept guessing which movie it could be.

Later at the theatre, we guessed that it had to be Mary Poppins Returns. They had this nice bench we could sit on with Mary Poppins standing behind us!

“We know what movie it is! It has to be Mary Poppins!” shout the #iThree

The new movie starts many years after the first one, and shows Jane and Michael as grown ups. Michael was married to his wife and has three kids. Ever since Michael’s wife died a year back everything is in a mess.

Mary Poppins comes flying at the end of a kite to look after the three children. She has her talking Umbrella and the small bag which is so so big on the inside!

This movie is picturised in London in the 1930s. Watching it I felt like I was in London. I also got to see the Big Ben. It was amazing.

I loved the movie. It combines animation and reality and shows us many impossible things. It is a lot of fun! My favourite part is when Mary Poppins changes time! You need to see the movie to understand what I mean.

Have you seen Mary Poppins Returns? Or have you read any of the Mary Poppins books? Tell me how it was for you.

Until next time!
